Americans United for Change has recently run ads against three vulnerable Republican Senators. This week they're rolling out ads against six Congressmen. Among them: freshman Rep. Dean Heller (NV-02).
The ad will be shown on local TV stations in the coming days.

This new blog inspired me to write the following.
Dear Representative Heller,
My family supports a timetable for US Troops to leave Iraq.
Some argue that generals should not be told how to fight their wars.
Indeed, generals are taking orders from the civilian government to fight as long as the government wishes them to. Left to that strategy we may fight forever. The government represents the people of this country and in poll after poll, larger majorities wish the soldiers in Iraq to be redeployed to Afghanistan and the National Guard to return home to their internal duties.
Secondly, many generals discouraged an attack on Iraq. The President's response was to fire these highly competent warriors and replace them with officer's who found strategies the President insisted on.
And now we find ourselves where the original generals, and the CIA, and the UN and the IAEA and the Organization of Arab States and Turkey and Saudia and Egypt and Jordan and India and Kofi Anan and the Pope predicted: "Civil strife leading to civil war leading to regional war."
The choices the American people are left with for a solution in Iraq are bad and worse. There are no good choices. It is clear to us who have no political agenda, that the only choice among bad choices is to limit our losses and withdraw from the country in a measured manner commencing immediately.
Many say the Sunni and Shia have been at each other's throats for 1000 years. This is not true. In Baghdad, Sunni and Shia freely intermarried, shared neighborhoods, shared lives and livelihoods.
Sadly, the strife in Iraq was brought on by the force the United States used under Secretary Rumsfeld's "Shock and Awe" program which has left many areas of Iraq completely leveled with as many as 1,000,000 dead due to American bombs which litter the streets to this day where children play.
It is clear to the Iraqi people and to we the American people, it is time to bring the troops home.
We are looking forward to your support on the most important issue facing America today.
Good idea but this is the same crook who bought the Sequoia voting machines and forced them on the rural counties and Washoe County while letting Clark County largely keep in place 14 year old Sequoias with add on printers that do not let you verify the individual vote.
He should be tried for treason along with his big brothers in DC.

In the meantime I wrote this in to the RGJ who has not printed.
I am a Heller constituent. I am not an "East Coast liberal," I am a person who sometimes agrees with a conservative approach, sometimes I think progressively and often I am centrist. I wrote Heller stating my opposition to the surge and to the war. Ten days have passed and I have not heard from him. He states two of three people he speaks to are against the current policies on Iraq. Yet he says he will let nearly a year go by before he "makes a decision." Not only is he not responding to his electorate, he is not listening to them. I guess he's one of those politicians who proves that Washington doesn't work.
